Writer/Editor Volunteer Opportunity

There is an exciting opportunity to help with writing or editing the LIANZA Book of New Zealand Children’s Literature.  Most of the content is there – we just need someone to help us pull it all together!

We are seeking someone with writing or book editing experience to help us out with our book-the LIANZA Book of New Zealand Children’s Literature. You must have excellent attention to detail and be passionate about children’s literature in New Zealand.

Please note this is a volunteer position.

This book was created as a kind of reader's advisory resource for parents to find quality New Zealand literature for their children. We used Carnegie medal winners and nominations from the New Zealand Book Awards for Children and Young Adults as the basis for the content . It was also created to commemorate the LIANZA Children's Book Awards which no longer exist.

The book is aimed as a resource for an external audience-not necessarily based in the library sector.

We would love to have the book finished by the end of 2017.

The person who previously held the Marketing and Communications Cooridinator position here at LIANZA did a lot of work pulling together the content, now it just needs shaping.

We have advertised this position as a writer or editor because we want to keep it open for various skill sets. So if you think you have the right skills, we would love to hear from you and we can come up with a project plan together.

Please email your CV and a cover letter to Julia de Ruiter, Marketing and Communications Coordinator by February 28th 2017.
