Members of the board are expected to commit to at least one year on the board in addition to taking on the responsibility of guest editing one issue of Library Life during that year.

Board members can expect to spend between 1-2 hours a week in their role on the board, with the hours increasing to 3-5 hours per week during their time as Guest Editor.
