You will be joining a team of Librarians who are part of Knowledge Services which is made up of Librarians and Information Advisors. We are responsible for providing information from a wide range of sources to support decision making.  We are part of the wider Corporate Services Group and have a kaitiaki role across the Ministry – protecting and looking after our organisation so we have great people, processes and technology.

Te whainga poto o tēnei tūranga – What is the purpose of this position?: 

As a Reference Librarian, you will be responsible providing a high quality, innovative, evidence-based information delivery services that meet the information needs of Ministry staff You will get to appraise and disseminate evidence-based research that contributes to informed decision making across the Ministry.

 Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako – Skills & Experience: 

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • A library, information science or information management post graduate qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge of, and experience with online and print sources (preferably of health and disability related information)
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be able to write clearly, logically and concisely
  • Ability to apply new and evolving ideas, methods and technologies
  • Ability in translating user requirements to practical solutions

You will be a team player who has a track record of establishing strong working relationships with all stakeholders and is known for providing a superb customer experience.
