This unique role will enable you to use your knowledge as a collections specialist relating to mātauranga Māori. You will have a strong focus on customer service to engage with the community and the ability and skills to deliver high quality services and programmes of particular interest to Māori. You will deliver reference services, information activities and programmes both in house and community based as required relating to the Ngā Pounamu Māori and Ngāi Tahu collection resources across our network. You will contribute to the provision of professional development for colleagues in this area and assist with developing and updating Māori digital resources and services along with promotion of our broader library services.

To be successful you will be passionate about connecting the community to Māori information, committed to supporting the library to meet its obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi and keen to help us deliver on initiatives in our strategic bicultural plan. Being competent in all aspects of information retrieval, including supporting customers to develop their own confidence and information literacy skills, you will be a team player keen to contribute and innovate in a supportive team environment. Knowledge of te reo me ona tikanga is required.
