Marketing, Communications & Events Lead - Rotorua Library

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic and innovative individual to join our industrious library team to co-ordinate programmes and an annual calendar of events for Te Aka Mauri Rotorua Library.

The role is a lead position reporting to the Library Director and manages a small team. It is very ‘hands-on’ involving anything from hosting a visiting author; to laying out chairs and tables in a meeting room; to pitching event and programme opportunities to community groups and organisations.

To be the right fit for this position you must be a person who is willing to get the job done, who does not settle for second best and who believes in delivering customer service at the highest level. Additional qualities we are looking for are enthusiasm, the ability to remain calm under pressure, self-motivation, good organisational skills, professional integrity and a good sense of humour! Computer literacy, a current driver’s licence and the ability to work varied hours on any given day is vital for this role.

A relevant marketing, or event management qualification is required and a proven track record in this field of experience.

The successful applicant will be Police vetted and required to undergo a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol screening test.

Te Kaunihera o nga Roto o Rotorua (Rotorua Lakes Council) is committed to working in partnership with Te Arawa, out local iwi. We aspire to being a bicultural organisation and we value staff who speak te reo Maori, have an appreciation of Maori values, and a working knowledge of tikanga Maori.
