Do you have a passion for working with students and academic staff to help them achieve their research and academic goals? Are you interested in working in the Library as part of a team which plays a pivotal role in connecting people and information resources? Are you able to think outside the square? If so, you may be just the person we are looking for. We are seeking a highly motivated person wishing to pursue a library career to join our Subject Librarians Team to work closely with the Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies. You will need to be proactive in establishing excellent working relationships with faculty and have the ability to develop and promote library resources and services. You will also enjoy teaching both alone and as part of a team and be a dynamic, confident person who is ready to run with new ideas and who can see fresh opportunities. You will also contribute to the Library’s collection development programme. To be our successful candidate you will have the ability to deliver professional library services in an academic setting, and an appreciation of the research and learning needs of staff and Māori students in the University environment. If you have a University degree and a tertiary qualification in Librarianship (or are working towards one), have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, this is a unique opportunity to work in a student-focused environment in an award winning building. Knowledge of Tikanga Māori and fluency in Te Reo is essential.Salary will be in the range of $56,500 to $68,000 per year, pro rata, depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
