Māori Academic Liaison Librarian

Do you have a passion for working with students and academic staff to help them meet their research and academic goals? Are you interested in working in the Library as part of a team which plays a pivotal role in connecting people and information resources? Are you able to think outside the square? If so you may just be the person we are looking for. 

We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our Academic Liaison Team to work closely with the Faculty of Māori and Indigenous Studies. You will need to be proactive in establishing excellent working relationships with staff and students and have the ability to develop and promote library resources and services. You will also enjoy teaching both alone and as part of a team and be a dynamic, confident person who is ready to run with new ideas and see and take advantage of fresh opportunities. You will have a knowledge of Tikanga and Te Reo Māori. 

To be our successful candidate you will have the ability to deliver professional library services in an academic setting and an appreciation of the research and learning needs of staff and students in the University environment. If you have a tertiary degree, a qualification in Librarianship (or are working towards or interested in obtaining one), have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently, this is a unique opportunity to work in a student focused environment. 

Salary will be in the range of $58,725 to $70,678 per year depending on qualifications, skills and experience.
