About the role
The Library Management System Specialist is at the core of our library ICT. You will be responsible for ensuring our systems are maintained and operate correctly, including our LMS and RFID systems, the online public access catalogue, website, and self-issue computers. You will work collaboratively with the wider council ICT team, other SMART libraries, and our staff to contribute to the overall technological capability of the Library and Archive.
Who are we looking for?
To be the ideal candidate for our role you will have experience with a library management system, high level skills in information technology and software, and general knowledge of libraries and archives.
You will have strong relationship management skills with the ability to build and develop positive working relationships within a team, across the wider council and with external stakeholders.
Along with strong “soft skills” the other key skills needed for this role include:
- Systems supervisor experience;
- Demonstrated knowledge of library management systems, SYDUS LMS is an advantage;
- Two years’ experience in libraries and/or archives;
- Knowledge of websites and website builders;
- Proven ability to work independently as a constructive and flexible team member;
- High level critical thinking and problem solving skills; and
- Demonstrated knowledge of Tikanga Māori.
