Library Experience Representative

Manawatu District Libraries develop and deliver a wide range of library services to our community. We provide opportunities for young to old for social interaction and wellbeing, recreation, to feed their knowledge and imaginations, rebuild their lives, find direction, and upskill themselves.

We are looking for a people person to join our Library Services Team, to provide our community with exceptional customer experiences. To be successful in this role, you will have an affinity for helping people, customer service experience and be confident in interacting with our diverse community. A library qualification would be beneficial but not essential. Most importantly, you will have an understanding of the critical role the library plays in our community.

As one of our team members, you will be sharing your knowledge with our community each day, as well as supporting the library team in the delivery of programmes and activities, and in the daily operation of our service.

If you are passionate about providing excellent customer experiences, have a ‘can do’ attitude and have a high level of literacy, then you may be the person we are looking for.

There are two positions available:

Position 1 is fixed term until 30 June 2022 for 32+ hours per week on a roster basis over 7 days, with shifts sometimes to 9:30pm.

Position 2 is permanent for 32+ hours per week on a roster basis over 7 days, with shifts sometimes to 9:30pm.

We are going to be continuing with the recruitment for this role and will perform interviews via Zoom if required. Our business is set up for all staff to work from home, so we don’t see the current lockdown impacting this role.
