Library Director - Kaihautu Te Aka Mauri

Rotorua Lakes Council has an exciting opportunity for someone with the right skills and attributes to continue the fantastic development and drive performance of the Library at Te Aka Mauri.

The role of Library Director is pivotal to the success of Te Aka Mauri in Rotorua and the wider region. This is an exciting time to get involved in our innovative library where as an enthusiastic talented leader you will be able to bring your experience, ideas and know-how to the team. You will have a collaborative leadership approach; empowering and building a values based culture within the team to ensure the Library delivers on its vision for the city and wider region.  

The library at Te Aka Mauri is the focal point of a unique collaboration with the DHB as a children's health hub where improving children's wellbeing is a priority through a combination of health and educational outcomes. 

Rotorua embodies the spirit of manaakitanga and is the heart of Te Arawa. We aspire to be the centre for Maori culture and contemporary expression, and to use the Library to inspire the hearts and minds of our people and our visitors. We are looking for someone with experience in developing and delivering high quality services with outstanding customer experiences, distinctive relevant events and programmes. The successful candidate will have ability to manage and promote what is an outstanding community asset while developing strong local and industry relationships.
