LIANZA Te Kura Pounamu Award

The Te Kura Pounamu was established in 1995 and recognises Māori authors, illustrators and translators who contribute to a work for children or young people written in Te Reo Māori. There are no limitations on the character of the book, except it must be original, or new to children’s literature as a result of individual research – the re-telling and interpretation being the writer’s own.

The winner of the 2014 Te Kura Pounamu is Kimihia by Te Mihinga Komene.
