Our science supports the sustainable production of high quality produce and novel functional foods that earn a premium in international markets and offers benefits to human health and wellbeing.

Our Knowledge Navigators provide a tailored, high quality information and expert searching service to support the science and business activities of the organisation and the achievement of Plant & Food’s strategic goals and objectives. They are part of a wider Information & Knowledge Services group that provides a broad portfolio of services including records, knowledge management and core IT services.

Utilising restricted and specialised sources, Knowledge Navigators select, describe and package search results in new areas of science, commercial growth and intellectual property as well supporting current research projects.  Staff are trained and supported to be independent and confident searchers of resources and ensure they are using research management tools effectively.

You will be degree qualified with an information or knowledge management focus and have at least three years relevant postgraduate experience, preferably in a science environment.  Expert knowledge of scholarly resources and the ability to critically evaluate, select and filter results is essential, with skills in the use of bibliometrics and patent searching being an additional advantage.  You will be comfortable working independently and capable of building relationships across the business, using strong communication skills to facilitate the presentation of information clearly and succinctly. Chinese language skills will be advantageous.
