Christchurch City Libraries have a national and international reputation for their well-connected successful network of libraries that contribute to the City of Christchurch. We currently have a vacancy for a Team Leader within our Linwood and Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre libraries.
Linwood Library is a busy library located within the Eastgate Mall. It is well-used by all age groups, is open seven days a week and offers a wide range of programmes and services to its diverse community. Matuku Takotako: Sumner Centre is a community centre that houses the library, community rooms, Sumner Museum, Matuku Theatre group and the Sumner Bays Union Trust. This is also open seven days.
You will be key in providing direction, empowering and motivating your team to provide quality programmes and services and in managing the day-to-day operations of the library and its services. You will also play a key role in building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships at both facilities.
Duties and responsibilities –
- Managing a team which includes Associate Team Leaders, Library Assistants and Shelvers
- Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Coaching and developing members of staff
- Facility Management
- Recruiting and inducting new team members and assisting with network recruitment as required
We require a highly motivated, customer-focused professional who is passionate about delivering excellent services to the community and who has experience leading teams. We are looking for a visionary focused leader who can work collaboratively across teams and who is committed to supporting our Treaty of Waitangi obligations.
Qualifications and experience –
- Minimum of a level 7 qualification and a recognised library qualification, or equivalent
- Management of medium to large multifaceted teams
