Expressions of Interest: LIANZA SIG and Regions Working Group

A team of thinkers is being sought to form the LIANZA SIG and Regions Working Group, to help co-create a sustainable and future-focused strategy and recommendations that benefit all members and enable the financial sustainability of LIANZA.

The purpose of the LIANZA SIGs and Regions Working Group is to review how to maximise the member benefits offered by SIGs and Regions, in a sustainable way for LIANZA. This working group will be chaired by John Garraway, LIANZA Past-President.


The working group will be formed by Friday August 17, with recommendations made to LIANZA Council by the end of October.

Each group will have members from LIANZA Council and Regions and SIG committees. 
 

We are seeking other LIANZA members to also contribute to these working groups.

LIANZA SIGS and Regions Working Group

 Terms of Reference

 

Purpose

The purpose of the LIANZA SIGs and Regions Working Group is to review how to maximise the member benefits offered by SIGs and regions, in a sustainable way for LIANZA.

This review will include:

 

1.     Identifying the extent to which the experience of LIANZA membership is associated with their region or chosen SIG.

2.     Reviewing current membership structure and inclusion of region and SIG membership.

3.     Reviewing the funding of SIGs and Regions including

- use of membership fees to support SIG and region member benefits

- budget process, parameters and timing
- accrual of distributed funds or event profit

- member rates charged at SIG and Region events

- use of events to raise funds for LIANZA

4.     Identifying the challenges in finding members willing to volunteer for committees and some strategies to address these challenges

 

Membership

The working group will have up to eight members from LIANZA Council, SIGs and region committees and the wider LIANZA membership. The working group will be led by a chair, appointed by LIANZA Council
 

Working group communication

Meetings will be held by Zoom and other communication will be by email.
LIANZA Office will provide support and information as requested by the Chair.

Timeframe
The working group will be formed by Friday August 17th 2018 with recommendations to LIANZA Council by end of October.
