Expressions of Interest: LIANZA Scholarships Working Group

A team of thinkers is being sought to form the LIANZA Scholarships Working Group, to help co-create a sustainable and future-focused strategy and recommendations that benefit all members and enable the financial sustainability of LIANZA.

The purpose of the LIANZA Scholarships Working Group is to review current LIANZA General Awards and Scholarships and SIG and Region scholarships and to identify how scholarships can be provided cost-effectively to LIANZA members. This working group will be chaired by Rachel Esson, LIANZA President-Elect.


The working group will be formed by Friday August 17, with recommendations made to LIANZA Council by the end of October.

Each group will have members from LIANZA Council and Regions and SIG committees. 
 

We are seeking other LIANZA members to also contribute to these working groups.

LIANZA Scholarships Working Group

 Terms of Reference

 

Purpose

The purpose of the LIANZA Scholarship Working Group is to review the current LIANZA General Awards and Scholarships and to identify how scholarships can be provided cost effectively to LIANZA members to advance the strategic goals of the association. This review will include:

 

1.     Review of the current LIANZA General Awards and Scholarships offered and making recommendations for future offerings and possible funding.

2.     Review current SIG and Region scholarships purpose and processes.

3.     Assess the suggestion that all LIANZA scholarships are distributed nationally.

4.     Develop guidelines to ensure that scholarships offered do not impact on LIANZA income.

5.     Develop guidelines for scholarship selection criteria and processes including  contribution to LIANZA strategic goals, and how benefit being returned to the whole community, not only the individual.

 

Membership

The working group will have up to eight members from LIANZA Council, SIGs and region committees and the wider LIANZA membership. The working group will be led by a chair, appointed by LIANZA Council
 

Working group communication

Meetings will be held by Zoom and other communication will be by email.
LIANZA Office will provide support and information as requested by the Chair.

Timeframe for recommendations and decisions.
The working group will be formed by Friday August 17th 2018, with recommendations to LIANZA Council by end of October.
