LIANZA CONFERENCE CODE OF CONDUCT
At LIANZA we champion free speech and open access to information for everyone, regardless of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, ethnicity or religion – because those values are the bedrock on which our profession is built. We want everyone to feel welcome, safe, included and supported – online and at all events we hold. This code of conduct sets out what we should expect of each other.
We are open in our approach to others – do offer to help someone if they need assistance, do tell people what you like about their talk or work and do network actively but respect people’s space.
We always accept that no means no – don’t harass people with abusive comments, intimidation, or unwanted sexual or physical attention.
No matter our personal beliefs, we honour the perspectives of others. We treat others with kindness and respect. We can have the difficult conversations about key issues, but we challenge the arguments, not the person – personal attacks are not acceptable, be kind when offering constructive feedback.
If you are being harassed, see any behaviour that you feel is inappropriate, or have any other concerns, please go to the registration desk to report it. We can take appropriate action, including warning people, or asking them to leave the event or activity.
