Conference Programme

The conference programme timetable will be confirmed in May 2019.

Conference Theme

Our Families, Our Communities, Our Libraries Nāu te rourou nāku te rourou
Our conference theme focuses on the wellbeing and success of our people and invites us to examine our current practices, approaches and services to our families and communities.
The vision for the LIANZA 2019 Conference is for all participants to share, gift, reciprocate and collaborate using the elements of va feiloai (respectful relationships), mafana (warmth), ofa (love), malie (humour) through talanoa (shared dialogue).
Our Families are those closest to us, those we hold dear, our whanau, our iwi/aiga/kainga.  Families can be small or large extended groups. Families are central to the wellbeing of individuals and to the collective, and are hubs of information, learning, knowledge and wisdom.
Our Communities are diverse. A community is a collective grouping of those people we desire to see the best of. These are our diverse villages that include churches, schools, government and non-government sector groups and communities that we collaborate closely with or we may wish closer collaboration with.
Our Libraries are the people we work with and the institutions we work in. We collaborate and partner with families and communities to provide them with relevant and engaging information services, including academic and information literacies knowledge and skills. Our libraries and information management sector is a crucial partner contributing to families and communities wellbeing and success outcomes.

Social Events

The conference will provide a number of opportunities to socialise and network with your peers including a welcome function and conference dinner.
