Children and Young Adult Services Librarian

This is an exciting opportunity to join and lead a small team dedicated to delivering excellent children and youth-focused library services to the Tasman District community. Come and join us!

Based at the Richmond Library, this is a full-time (40 hour) position responsible for the development and delivery of effective children and youth services, programmes and events. You will also manage, develop and promote library collections for children and young adults, and deliver high quality, inspirational, sustainable, relevant and innovative children and youth services across the district’s libraries.

You’ll have a recognised library or information science qualification at Level 6 or equivalent, and a minimum of five years of public library experience as a qualified librarian, ideally in a leadership role. You will demonstrate a commitment to team management and providing excellent customer service, an enthusiasm for and a wide knowledge of children’s literature, and be confident in working with a wide range of people.
