Does LIANZA Council have WOO?

Does LIANZA Council have WOO??

Amuri toi i a ako whakaaro, be OPEN to consideration that LIANZA has serious WOO.  Find out by attending the LIANZA Conference.  Earlybird registrations close soon, so be in quick.  The line up of keynotes is off the hook and so are the concurrent sessions.  See you all there!!

IFLA Global Vision

Who is IFLA? They are the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions.  We, your Council hope that you will play a role in helping us submit OUR voice as a country!  So how do you do that?  Get to your regional AGM and be part of the discussion.  As the time frames are tight (see photo below), then please make sure someone collates and gets it back to Joanna as soon as possible.  If you are using social media, then please utilise the #IFLAGlobalVision to share with others.

Sending serious WOO!

We need serious WOO to WOO the multitudes of IFLA in supporting our bid to host IFLA 2020.  If you are going to IFLA 2017, Wroclaw, Poland and/or are seriously considering going to IFLA 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, then please get in contact with our Executive Director, President or President Elect and lets WOO the bejingus out of IFLA.  We have serious WOO support from Te Rōpū Whakahau members heading to Wroclaw too!!!

INELI cohorts from Aotearoa need to WOO their “comrades in arms” in supporting the way forward.  Imagine a conference of such multitude! We are fully supported by our colleagues across the “Ditch” which is always a good way to start in keeping our neighbours happy.

Memorandum of Understanding with ALIA

He hononga pai mō tātou, arā, mōu anahe hoki. We recently updated the biennial MoU with ALIA.  It has had noticeable impact for our members who have jumped the ditch.  We have also noted queries on a monthly basis around our Professional Registration from our friends around the world too! Benefits of these MoU include access to training seminars and conferences at membership rates, networking and sharing best practice and fun discussions.

What is happening to the strategy?

LIANZA Councillor reports for AGM will highlight to each region how YOU  as a member can help us walk the pathway of the future.  Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai tātou katoa.

Anahera Morehu, Regional Councillor for Hikuwai
