Together with the Australian Government and National Library of Australia, the National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa is working with colleagues from across the Pacific to develop a shared online place that enables Pacific peoples to connect with their cultural heritage from around the world.

The Pacific Virtual Museum Pilot Program will produce an online portal that provides an easy single access point to digitised Pacific cultural heritage items held in different museum, archive, and library collections around the region, similar to the DigitalNZ service (www.digitalnz.org). This first pilot phase runs until February 2022 and focuses on providing access to digitised Pacific heritage photographs.

We are looking for a talented leader to drive this important programme for Pasifika people. The Programme Manager, Pacific Virtual Museum will lead a team to work effectively with Pasifika communities, researchers, educators, memory institutions and other key stakeholders to successfully co-design and deliver the pilot programme.

You will be highly skilled at relationship management and you’ll have deep experience working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. Ideally you’ll have led complex programmes of work, in tight timeframes, with some focus on technology.
