Conference Blog

One dimension of the Promotions and Communications suite of products for this years conference in October, is the Conference Blog - http://lianza2009.wordpress.com/ . Your hard working Promotions and Communication Sub-Committee (PromComSubCom) has committed to weekly posts relating to all things ‘Conference'. Every Thursday is publication day so put that in your diary or follow our RSS feed.

The blog is the place where we can discuss important conference issues such as getting interested in abstracts and presenters as well as exploring and exploiting the lighter side of the conference. Already posted on the blog are a call for abstracts, an introduction to Libby Church, the first of the ‘Monday Funny' posts and this week an introduction to Lyn Macleod the Conference Convener.

Other features of the blog include a link to the conference Fickr album and a slowly growing Blogroll of interesting and useful links. All of the features included in the blog will be updated regularly and will reach fever pitch by October 2009

The sub-committee is very keen for everyone to find something that ‘spins their wheels' in the communication suite being developed. We have a Facebook presence, are currently exploring Twitter, have a wide range of list-serv, Library Life, regional newsletters as well as the LIANZA website to communicate conference information. Our aim is to engage with all of our library colleagues and we are hoping there is something for everyone and that we are able to gain maximum coverage for both attendees and those left holding the fort during the conference.

Renowned blogger Moata Tamaira is managing the conference blog on behalf of the PromComSubCom and although writing is in her blood, we are keen to have contributors from all over the country so if you have a yearn to write and contribute contact Moata at moata.tamaira@natlib.org.nz and discuss your ideas.
