- ALIA Guidelines for Australian Special Libraries a set of guidelines covering management, staffing, finance, resources, services, and work environment.
- NZLLA Principles of Professional Conduct (New Zealand Law Librarians' Association) Adopted in 2004 these "15 principles of professional conduct of law librarians and other professionals providing legal information services" cover services, business relationships, professional and legal responsibilities. Accompanying notes and examples are available.
- IFLA Guidelines for Libraries in Government departments This pdf offers guidelines for all aspects of management such as finance and resourcing, preservation, staffing practices, dealing with privacy issues, marketing and also notes some trends in government libraries.

Web Junction This is a large US resource for librarians, provided by OCLC. It offers newsletters, blogs and articles, and sections of resources such as library management ( e.g. "writing proposals", "demonstrating impact"), information services (which includes lots of shared ideas for resolving reference problems), a technology section, (including basic product descriptions and how to specify), and a list of online courses and more.
